Should states and attorneys be sued because of the practices disclosed that exist under the unilateral no-fault divorce regime? The state does not disclose that marriage is not a legally protected institution, and the attorneys do not disclose that a respondent can never win in a unilateral no-fault divorce situation. Perhaps this lack of disclosure should be considered a violation of Unfair Deceptive Acts and Practices Act, or the Unfair Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices Act and give the respondent to a unilateral no-fault divorce the basis to sue. The unfairness, deceptiveness, and abusiveness associated with unilateral no-fault divorce is another reason we need to #RepealUnilateralNoFaultDivorce.
