Giga Shanghai
The eastward expansion has seen more earthworks as it becomes increasingly clear that a lot of this area may be used for storage in the near future.
It's a bit quieter than usual on account of Chinese New Year, which is a mandatory 2 week holiday, though some workers choose to work through it for enhanced pay. The freezing weather has improved. The loading lot remains full of cars being moved out.
The structure at the NE corner has progressed significantly with a lot more steel erected and the final form taking shape. The utility skybridge looks little changed from last week.
The building to the north of Phase 2, the birth place of the MIC Model Y, has some more steel girders installed and significantly more roof covering in place.
And the new foundations under the casting area are looking great.
And there's been some progress on the foundations over on the sliver-wedge at the SE corner and the space between Phase 2 buildings.
Giga Berlin
The frost has thawed nicely, and yes, it's been mad chilly at every location, but here we are. The front face on the south side of the property is closing off nicely with new windows, more roof coverings, a lot more wall panels, and substantially more space closed in.
As to whether or not the SW corner will be an entrance, there only appears to be three wall panels for a gap that would require four, so maybe.
The large cathedral is closing off as well with a number of bridge cranes already installed.
There's a smokestack along the East side of the building now as well.
Here's a better shot of the east side and its substantial moves toward completion. This site may begin to look a bit boring in a few weeks, as the progress inside gets into full swing and becomes wholly invisible from the sky.
But the clearing to the NE of the site is continuing, and we should expect to see developments here in coming weeks. Likely pavement for parking, loading and storage at least, but some have speculated this could be the beginning of Phase 2, and by people, I mostly mean me, and mostly because I'm hopeful.

Giga Texas
There hasn't been much in terms of progress in Texas this week due to the 100 year storm that blew through and froze most of the state, making roads unpassable, concrete unpourable, and costing actual lives. Our thoughts are with the families in these difficult times, and I hope the great state of Texas considers MegaPack battery installations and other all-weather solutions to protect from future disasters.
There's honestly not much to see this week, as they locked down for safety reasons prior to last Sunday, and only resumed work on Saturday.
If you're following my weekly Giga Texas math tracker, I should have that out by some time early Monday, and there has been some progress, though it's a bit harder to see from these shots.
Spare me a quick few seconds to thank my Patreons, and if you despise this part, don't skip, just hit M to mute me and watch the countdown. I'm busting my butt to make unique, compelling content, and YouTube famously pays approximately eff-all, so my Patreons help me keep the whole shebang running and get exclusive content and early access for as little as a buck a month. And there's going to be a tattoo reveal at 100 patrons. Yes, I have a Tesla tattoo, and no, you can't see it. At least not yet.
So be on the lookout for some big gains in Texas next week as the crew comes back and gets up to speed, and I'll have a 7-month all-sites comparison coming in a few days, with a few bonus surprises in there as well... You told me how you REALLY wanted to see it compared, and I delivered... or will have delivered in a few days, it's a pretty unforgiving expansion in terms of how complicated it is, but it will be worth it, you'll see.
