People are concerned about the work that may be involved if they "go solar". If you have a grid tie solar system, there is little to no maintenance required. If you have a solar system with battery storage, with deep cycle flooded batteries, then you will need to check the water levels and record the specific gravity on a regular basis. But most people don't have batteries, and have no maintenance at all.
