People dissociate themselves from real world and like to live in fantasy world which makes them feel pleasant, happy for short period of time, it can be good for get rid from current life trauma, problems, If a person had fight with someone, so get out from that situation, it can be helpful to calm and piece the mind by just daydreaming.
Fantasy based daydreaming gives people the pleasant experience of enjoying a mental reward without doing anything.
There is limit for everything, much daydreaming can cause the loose our focus from task at hand, we can even forget the information, and it can be cause of mental disorder. Those who think too much, it is even considered a pshyco.
