Taiwan is welcoming another high-level visit from a US official, the second in two months. The purpose of the trip is to restart US-Taiwan trade talks, which have been stalled for years due to Taiwan restrictions on US pork and beef imports. President Tsai Ing-wen announced in late August that Taiwan will lift some of the restrictions, paving the way for a return to talks.
