With the economy kick starting - the price of fuel is also going up. As of midnight, the price of petrol increases by over one rand per litre, reversing the savings gained in the last two months when prices plummeted. The plunge in oil prices, sparked by the softer demand during the global COVID-19 outbreak, as well as the Saudi Arabia and Russia Price war, fuelled the previous price decreases. At the same time the South African Petroleum Industry Association is warning of a shortage of diesel stock in the country.
