Why Persona 5 is Not on Switch

Why Persona 5 is Not on Switch Persona 5: Royal has released on PlayStation 4 in the West. Persona 5 Scramble has released on the PS4 and Switch in Japan. Atlus is even porting Catherine: Full Body to the Switch. So where's our Persona 5 Switch port already?!

According to Sony, there's some kind of deal that keeps Persona 5, with Joker, Morgana, and the Phantom Thieves on PlayStation, but the specifics aren't clear. It seems that the original Persona 5 may be tied down, while sequels and spin-offs, and, of course, Joker's role in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, all being fair game.

From the sounds of it, Atlus might be looking to reconsider this. Ari Advincula, community manager for Atlus, says that Persona 5 could come to Switch if fans cry loud enough. A recent customer survey asked which Atlus games fans would like on the Switch, and the result was a huge wave of requests for Persona 5 that outstripped the company's expectations.

If you're wondering why this video keeps showing up in your news feed, we apologise. We've had myriad problems uploading it in one piece (it was supposed to go out last week!), so here's hoping that third time's the charm!

Lots of love,
