Governor announces plans to reopen Texas, but schools to remain closed for rest of school year

Texas Governor Greg Abbott holds a news conference Friday about his task force to start the reopening of the state in stages as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Retail to-go will soon start, and state parks will reopen on Monday. He issued several executive orders, one which states that schools will stay closed for the remainder of the school year.
